About Cake Calcs
Cake Calcs is a set of simple, mobile-first tools for estimating common baking tasks such as buttercream needed for cakes.
We built it because so many recipes use US cup measurements, and that is not how many UK bakers work. Our calculators are based on UK-style ingredient measurements in grams, while still keeping inches available where they make sense, such as cake sizes and tin dimensions.
The calculations use geometric approximations and common recipe ratios, so you can quickly plan round, square, and rectangular cakes and then adjust settings to match your recipe style.
